The vibe of Menteng on that Saturday night is so dynamic and full of rhythm; starting from the corner of local army post we can feel the vibe of this place. From far away we can see a line up of various communities such as BMX, Low-rider Bike, and Old fashioned bike, MTB, Skateboard, Scooters and Classic Motor Bike flooding HOS.Cokroaminoto Street.We saw lot’s of familiar faces from Jakarta BMX scene, there’s Oki (MOSHESTUFF), Jabrik(Eternal), Udin and Mul(JRC) and may more. We’re welcomed by a smooth 360 Stair Drop in by Jabrik, after say hello and a short chit chat we straight mingles with all the kids there. Firman with his handy SLR starts to take picture of the kid’s enjoying hitting the gap and natural street obstacle on Menteng Park.
abrik who still suffer from his sprain ankle finally got flame up after we ask him to play and start firing his tricks. We just heard from some of the kids that couple week a go he can peeble grind the marble sign of Menteng Park, so we and some of the kids ask him to try that trick again. He accepted our request and starts to land his bike on that marble sign.
Not enough with his peeble grind, he also hit the marble with pegs grind and also a killer disaster to fakie. Seeing jabrik does a killing trick makes Mul and Bayu (NEGATIVE/PRIOK) to flame up instantly, Mul did a nice wall ride on that marble sign and Bayu does pegs grind, wall ride and a wall tap to that sign.
Their activities attract a lot’s of people on Menteng Park; lots of driver slow down and pull over just to see the kids ruining the obstacle. Including some photographer with their SLR camera starts to capture some of the kids.
Time goes by and it’s already 02.00 and one by one some of the kids are going back and we also get ready to pack up our gear to go home. After saying goodbye, we go home to our base camp in Bekasi. Smiles raise up in our faces and it suites for all we did tonight.
